FAQ
Why won't the camera start?
Common reasons: 1. Permission denied (check address bar). 2. No camera found. 3. Camera in use
by another app. 4. Not using HTTPS (browsers block camera on HTTP, except localhost).
What formats are supported?
Standard QR Codes and Micro QR Codes. Some 1D Barcodes (like EAN-13) might be supported
depending on camera quality.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The entire process happens in your browser's memory. No file is ever uploaded to a server.
How to switch cameras?
If multiple cameras are detected, a dropdown menu will appear below the controls allowing you to
select front or back cameras.
Can I scan from a screenshot?
Yes! Just take a screenshot, save it, and use the "Upload Image" button.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, provided you use Safari (iOS 11+) and grant camera permissions. Other browsers on iOS
utilize the same WebKit engine so they should work too.
Why is it blurry?
Browsers often limit video resolution for performance. Try bringing the QR code closer or moving
back to help the camera auto-focus.
Is there a scan history?
Currently, we do not save history to prioritize pure privacy (leaving no trace). You should copy
the result immediately.
